What Causes Arms And Lower Back Pain After A Total Abdominal Hysterectomy?

Hi, I am 45 years of age. Had total abdominal hysterectomy two years ago because of fibroids. Last year I was also diagnosed with a cyst on my right ovaries. Having a lot of pains in my right arm, lower back, and right foot. Sexual intercourse and exercise is like a torture to me. Your advice will be very much appreciated.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per the description above, the intense pain after intercourse and exercise do indicate underlying irritation of pelvic organs via possible endometrial seeding as endometriosis post-operative most likely.

It is best recommended to discuss the need for an MRI of the abdomen & pelvis when you meet your surgeon next time for further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
