What Causes Asthma Like Symptoms When Diagnosed With Sjögren S Syndrome?

I have been diagnosed with Skogrens and have been managing the dry mouth, dry eye symptoms for quite some time. Recently I have been experiencing asthma-like symptoms with difficulty breathing and wonder if these symptoms can be caused by Skogrens. I visited my PA and also called an ENT. Both suggested sinus issues caused by allergies. Can Skogrens be causing sudden gasping for breath?

As per your complain Sjogren's syndrome is an AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE in which the bodies own immune mechanism causes deleterious effects to the body leading to a number of symptoms out of which dry mouth and dryness of eyes are the main symptoms..

As per your query it is seen that in case if the inflammatory cells invade the lungs due to Sjogren's syndrome there can be stiffening of the lungs leading to difficulty in getting air and the patient finds it difficult to breath properly.

The dryness of nasal and irritation of lining can also make breathing troublesome.

I would suggest you to consult your doctor who is treating you for the sjogren's syndrome and get evaluated again and treatment can b done accordingly.

Taking nebulizer for breathing discomfort can be relieving.
