Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Auditory Hallucinations During Sleep While Treating PTSD?
Hi, I try to sleep at night, and I hear voices, and hallucinate. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and am in Therapy, and it seems like 9 months has gone by and my symptoms are getting worse, not better. I don t even want to go to my health care provider here anymore, I feel they don t listen to me.
The auditory hallucination indicates that therapy needs changes for the control of symptoms as usual therapy controls hallucinations within period of 2-3 weeks after the initiation of therapy. Kindly discuss the need of dose alteration with or without addition of another molecule to control the auditory hallucination in your case. A psychiatrist with detailed counselling would be best option ahead of your primary care provider.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
