Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Baby Skin Peeling Off Fingers And Toes And Chapped Lips?
i was wondering about my niece. she is 22 months old and has had yeast infection and strep throat. now the tips of her fingers and toes are now peeling like she has blisters but it is just skin coming off and it doesn t seem to bother her. her lips are also cracked but she is not running any kind of fever. I was wondering if anyone had an answer to what was going on and if this was normal or if it was something that we really needed to be worried about.
Hi Thanks for asking your question. From your description, the skin peeling and lips cracking problem does not seem to be related to yeast infection and strep throat infection.
My guess is that she was given antibiotics for treating her infections and she has not been taking multivitamin tablets alongwith the antibiotics.
I would advice you to please give her a multivitamin tablet twice a day for the next 10 days. This would address the problem.
Hope this helps! Please get back to me if you have any further questions.
