What Causes Back Pain, Bleeding During And After Intercourse?
Hi my names ashley im 19 years old and i have some symtoms that my mum is worried about but im not sure if its wasting the doctors time. For the last 8 months - year I have been experincing irregular bleeding, excessive vaginal discharge, bleeding during and after sex and lower back pain. Could someone give me some advice on what to do?
From your history you seem to have infection in the pelvic cavity with the infection of the uterus and cervix (mouth of the uterus). Due to the infection, you are getting excessive discharge and irregular bleeding. Infection causes swelling of the pelvic organs which are painful on movement. Therefore during sex when there are movements, they give pain. Also due to infection on the mouth of the cervix, there is erosion which may cause bleeding. The swelling of the cervix is always presented as low back ache.
Since you are a young girl and I believe, you have not delivered any child as yet, it is most likely that the infection could have been due to sexually transmitted infection.
I would advise you to report to the Gynaecologist for confirming the diagnosis. You would probably be treated by suitable antibiotics. For the cervical erosion, you may require cauterization. Simultaneously, your partner also should report to the STI specialist for check up and treatment. This will avoid reinfections.
Please observe sexual abstinence till both of you are declared clear of the infection.
I hope this helps you.
