Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has been having shortness of breath and periodid back pain. She did get an x-ray which showed inflammation in the lungs. Was prescribed a z pack 10 days ago for a minor cough as well. Tonight she woke me up with back stiffness and an itchy belly. What is your advice
The possible causes I can think about are as follows: The itchy belly may not be related to the present symptoms and can be due to local dermatitis or so. The stiff back can be due to local problems like muscle strain or could have been due to strain of coughing or as a general symptom that comes on with any other disease like respiratory infection: I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and get the investigations done. Give an anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen if it suits her. Apply local Rubefacient liniment so that local warmth will help release the muscle tensions and reduce pain. Bed rest in a warm cosy room. Treatment of the lung condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
