Hello, I recently had an abortion about 5 days ago. I took all the meds I was given and last night I started to have really bad abdominal/pelvic pains that have not gone away. It hurts to sit down, i have to sit slowly. Any pressure hurts and it is very tender. I have taken Advil and used a warming pad, but neither helped. Do u know what could be wrong? Does it have to do with the after pains of having an abortion?
Hello dear Understand your concern Abdominal pain occur due to uterine contraction that caused by abortion medicine. But it disappear or decreased after 4-6 days. But you have so much abdominal pain after 5 days is not normal. You should consult the gyencologist and get the done USG scan and swab test to exclude incomplete abortion, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy and vaginal/pelvic infections. Take tramadol injections if pain is severe and proper treatment of above cause if will diagnose. Maintain pelvic hygiene to prevent infections, rest, healthy diet with iron and mutivitamin supplements is advisable Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
