What Causes Bad Headache And Intermittent Ringing In Ears While Treating BP?

I am a 42 yr old female and I ve never had issues with my BP. I m a healthy and fit person. I work out daily, and generally have good diet. I do not smoke, drink socially (and not often) and do not drink soda. For the last 2 weeks I have been suffering from really BAD headaches. About a week ago, I started having intermittent ringing in my ears. After checking my BP and discovering a BP of 189/103 I was alarmed. I have been checking it every day and it has been running 148/99-158/89-169/96 (last 3 days readings) I do not have health insurance at this time :( Is this an urgent issue? If I can been seen at a clinic in about 2 weeks, is this ok? I don t want to go to the ER, but also do not want to have a stroke. Any advice at all would be great. Thank you for your time, Jacqueline

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
The best would have been to go to the hospital and be placed on BP medication. Now that you do not have the means, the BP readings are high but not life threatening.Just stay calm, rest well and go on special diet.Reduce the quantity of salt, maggi and oil you take. Also, reduce the quantity of water you drink. These are things that can raise your BP.In the mean time, get your BP checked everyday and if it rises too high again, go to the hospital with or without insurance.Immediately you have the means, see the Doctor for treatment.
Best regards
