What Causes Bad Odor In The Throat?

hi i have post nasal drip and sinus issues especially at winter. recently i have had very bad breath and i believe it is coming from the throat as when i blow my nose or even close my mouth i can smell the odour. it is very embarrassing. i have tried so many things with no improvement including allergy tablets and sprays and decongestants. i just want the smell to go away as it is very offensive

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if you have a history of Sinusitis causing post nasal drip and as you are experiencing foul odour on blowing nose as well as closing mouth then the most probable cause for it is Sinusitis or sinus infection..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and in case if it is sinusitis he/she can advise you to take antibiotics,steam inhalations and saline nasal spray.
In case if it is not diagnosed as the cause then evaluation will be done for other conditions like teeth and gum infections, Tonsil stones which can also cause foul taste in mouth and treatment will be planned accordingly..
