since the beginning of November I have had changes in my mouth which started with a bad taste, then thick mucous and now very salty taste which has been getting worse each day. It drys out my mouth completely. I hardly have any saliva any more to swallow and I find it very distressing. I also noticed very dark blue veins under my tongue. What does this mean and is there anything that can fix it. I have tried antibiotics and magic mouthwash and they have not helped.
As per your complain the problem of salty taste in mouth , thick phlegm, bad taste all seems to be secondary to dry mouth and dry mouth can occur due to a number of conditions like salivary gland disorders, nerve damage supplying salivary glands, oral infections like thrush, allergic reaction to medications, hormonal imbalances like Hypothyroidism etc.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment of underlying cause can relieve the symptoms. As of now you can take supportive treatment like Sucking on tart candies and sugarfree chewing gums as it stimulates saliva flow, saliva substitutes like artificial saliva can help in lubrication. Drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
