What Causes Balance Problem And Low BP While Suffering From Amyloidosis?

my father was diagnosed with primary amyloidosis one year and six months ago. He is on dialysis now and is having symptoms that leads me to believe that we are at the end of stage. His balance has gotten significantly worse and blood pressure is always low below 100 top #, he is taking medadrine to raise pressure but sometimes it takes about 4 hours to reach 118 or it goes all the way to 135. Are these signs that its affecting his heart at this time? He refused chemo only did it for three months and refused to continue, what are signs of end of stage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Because primary amyloidosis can affect varying organs at the same time, its symptoms will vary patient to patient. Generally life threatening problems are not mainly due to kidney, rather mainly these are due to involvement of heart. Of course, the symptoms described by you may be definitely due to involvement of heart, hence the extent of involvement of heart will determine the prognosis in this case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
