What Causes Bald Spot On Tongue, Clogged Ears And Runny Nose?

I have a "bare spot" on my tongue but this is the first time it's ever happened. it showed up today. I am sick with what seems like a head cold?? my ears get clogged, my nose is plugged and runny, I have a cough, but now this random spot? it has no "outline" it just looks like a bold spot. I ate a laffy taffy and my whole tongue was blue except the weird spot.

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..

As per your complain it seems that bare spot over the tongue along with head cold, clogged ears and plugged nose and cough and runny nose seems to be due to viral infection leading to common cold and bare spot seems to be due to inflammation over the tongue that is caused due to infection..

As it is a viral infection it will resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in human body..

As of now you can start with supportive treatment to relieve the symptoms like:
-Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution..

-Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti allergic levocetrizine and another combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen..

-Take cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan.

-Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..

-Do steam inhalations..

-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

-Sip on warm water throughout the day..

-For bare or inflamed spot on tongue if there is pain apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine..

If there is no improvement in a week consult an Oral Physician or ENT Physician and get evaluated..
