Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the bitter taste in mouth after taking antibiotics like
Metronidazole and
Clarithromycin is due to side effect of the antibiotics and Metronidazole is most commonly seen to cause the same..
These are temporary side effects of the antibiotics and will slowly resolve once the antibiotic intake is stopped..
As of now you should chew flavoured sugarfree chewing gum as well as gargle with flavoured antiseptic mouthwash..
Another part of your question is that the bitter taste can also be due to acid reflux but in case of acid reflux bitter taste is not the only symptom rather it is accompanied with chest burn or
chest discomfort,
throat irritation, reflux of sour liquid in throat and mouth etc..
In case if you have any such symptoms then the bitter taste can be due to it..
In that case taking
Pantoprazole or Omeprazole empty stomach can help in relieving the symptoms along with antacids..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
