What Causes Black Colored Diarrhea?

Yesterday I ingested in total 3/4ths of an xtc tablet at a festival with a few friends, my friends seem to be fine the next day, but my stool is watery and black. I also had a few moments of sharp pain from what I believe to be my liver yesterday during the festival. I did some research and found that there is a certain enzym in the liver which processes the xtc ingested, roughly 6-10% of people have issues with taking xtc due to problems with either this missing or not fully functional enzym in the liver. My question is should seek immediate attention or am I able to wait a few days to see if my stool clears up. Kind regards

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Black stool is related to hemorrhage at the gastrointestinal tract. I suggest you to seek medical help and see a gastrologist to confirm the source of hemorrhage. An endoscopy may be needed to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
