Last night I developed a puffiness under my eye and this morning I had a huge black eye. There was no trauma involved and I do not recall being bitten by an insect. I do take Brilinta and aspirin for a recent heart attack and stent. There is no pain or vision problems, just the unsightliness of the black eye. Should I be concerned or just watch it for a few days to see if it worsens or goes away.
Aspirin is a blood thinning drug , even a trivial trauma and a vigorous rubbing of eye can cause Black eye which is nothing but blood underneath the skin around the eye. No specific treatment for it which resolves over aperiod of 2-4 weeks depending on the amount of bleed.
