What Causes Black Mucus Discharge From The Anus Post Colposcopy?

I had a colposcopy done, 3 days later I had a large discharge which looks like a wad of gauze. It was covered in black and yellow mucus. My doctor said he didn t use gauze so it had to be the Monsel Solution. But the texture was like gauze material.

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. I understand your concerns.
In most cases certain gauzes, compresses or towels are used during irrigation of vagina and this may be piece of it. But also, it may be mucous discharge which is common after such procedures. I dont think you should be worried unless there are signs of infections,pain or bleeding. It should pass in few days. HAve a good hygiene and thats it.
