What Causes Blackouts Followed By Lightheadedness?

Recently, I have been experiencing episodes in which my vision fades to black and I feel light headed. It only lasts a few seconds (usually). Today, when it happened, I crashed into a door frame and fell down. I was on the floor for a good thirty seconds before I could get up. I heard a buzzing sound and may have been experiencing some kind of spasm (It happened quite quickly so I m not sure). I am fifteen. Please help.

I can understand your comcern. As you correctly pointed out, seizures can come with the symptoms you have experienced.

I would advise you to consult a physician or neurologist to physically examine you and investigate further to reach the underlying cause of possible seizure. You may have to go through blood tests, x ray, CT Scan and MRI. Treatment can be advised after the test results.

I would ask you not to worry too much as seizures can be controlled with proper medications and you can lead a normal life.
