What Causes Bladder Spasms And Constipation?

I take prednisone (10mg, once a day) and plaquenil (200 mg, twice a day). They cause bladder spasms and constipation. The symptoms have been happening for two weeks. But I've been taking the plaquenil for eight months and prednisone for one year. What should I do about it?

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of taking Prednisone 10 mg a day and Plaquenil 200 mg twice a day. These are causing bladder spasms and constipation, going on for 2 weeks, taking medicines for long as you have mentioned and wants to know what to do?
Since you have been taking Plaquenil for 8 months and Prednisone for one year, these medicines causing such a problem is not a possibility.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult an Urologist for proper clinical evaluation, examination and ask for investigations as follows:
Urine: Routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
Tests of blood for CBC, Sugar and thyroid function tests.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen particularly for uro-genital system.
A course of an antibiotic if there is an evidence of infection.
Antispasmodic as indicated.
If no relief, you may need cysto-urethroscopy.
Further evaluation and proper management.
