Hello, I just had a question... Oct 8th I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks at 4 weeks it showed I had a pocket of blood in my uterus and was told it could end in misscarage and it did but I ve been bleeding 7-8 weeks now because with the pocket of blood and misscarage but even after the misscarage Oct 8th I m still bleeding like crazy I have pains in my lower stomach and back and have been getting chest pains the last few days I m scared of a infection or something but the doctors in my town are crazy and do nothing but tell me it should all go away soon and it s been almost 2 weeks since my misscarage and it still hasn t gave up ..? What would be ur best advice for me?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Pain and bleeding can last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks after miscarriage. Gradually it should come down in therms of frequency and severity. However, it would be better to get an ultrasound abdomen done to know weather the products of conception has been fully expelled or not. This is because, retention of small amount could cause complications such as infections and continuous bleeding. Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for proper evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
