What Causes Bleeding Between Periods While On Birth Control Pills?
Hello, I am on the birth control pill and started my regular monthly cycle on July 29. It ended Aug 2 as I started my new pack of pills. It stops for about a day and then starts again for about three or four days. It is heavy bleeding for about and hour and then turns light the remainder of the time. What is happening!?
Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. Bleeding or spotting between the periods while on birth control pills is common side effect experienced by many women. It occurs mainly due to hormonal imbalance. Kindly continue to use the pills you are taking as after a couple of months, it would get adjusted to your body and such symptoms should reduce or stop. In case it continues to bother you by becoming more or frequent, you need to consult Gynecologist for change in birth control pills or contraceptive method which would suit you. Hope the information provided would help. Wish you good health.
