What Causes Bleeding From The Finger Nails When Suffering From Psoriasis?

My husband is 69 years olds and on PD dialysis and cumadine which was check ed today with a 2.6. Tonight as he was getting into bed, the nail base around his index finger started to bleed. There has been no injury or crush. There is not pain, just a lot of blood. He has psoriasis around his nails and has been using a steroid cream for the last three days. Does he need to see s doc or is this cused by the cream? Does he need to see a doc immediately?

Hello

I am concerned about your husband's health issues.

Yes he needs to see a doctor as there are many possible reasons for this bleeding ranging from drug induced to his renal failure with platelets dysfunction.

Steroids cause skin thinning and increased fragility which can cause such episodes.

I hope I have answered your query.
