Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain it is true that oral contraceptives are seen to increase the incidence of gum diseases in women.
It is due to increase in level of
progesterone hormone in the body of women who are taking oral contraceptives.
If it is the first time that you have seen your gums bleeding taking a contraceptive pill the bleeding can be due to it.
In case for the women who take contraceptive pills should take care of maintaining a very good
oral hygiene as a little deposit of
plaque and hard calcified deposit known as calculus can lead to a more severe infection and inflammation of gums known as
gingivitis due to the the action of the contraceptive pills.
The women on contraceptive pills should always keep their dental checkups done to get evaluated for any infections or deposits on gums and get it cleaned as the women on oral contraceptives are more prone to develop gum problems and long term intake of contraceptives can be damaging for the gum health.
In case the bleeding is excessive you can consult your gynaecologist for the change of medicine which do not hamper your gum health.
Use of antimicrobial mouthwash for gargles can be helpful.
Brush your teeth twice daily once in morning and other before going to bed at night can be helpful..
Floss your teeth daily..
Drink plenty of water to maintain hydrated body and gums and to avoid dryness of mouth.
Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards..
