What Causes Bleeding In The Nose With High Fever And Nasal Congestion?
Hi i really need your help, my son is 9 and has g6pd.... he developed a fever and nasal congestion I gave him paracetamol but his nose started to bleed continuously he was admitted to the hospital but strangely the doctors don t know what caused the nose bleed, he is home now but I would never want a repeat episode so can you help me determine what to do so this never happens again...
In a young kid, nose bleed is very common especially when they have fever or infection. In your sons case it is more likely since he has G6PD deficiency which put him in more risk of developing bleed especially when you give him drugs like paracetamol. From next time make sure he does not pick his nose, always make sure his nose is not crusting, keep a bottle of nasal drops like xylometazoline ready and give any medication only under proper guidance from an ENT surgeon. If he gets recurrent bleed then he has to be investigated further regards
