I just found out that my boyfriend is positive for HSV1 (which is pretty common) however neither of us has ever had a cold sore in our lives. About a month ago I got this little pin prick bumps on various fingers that then went away after a doctor gave me some prednisolone for 10 days. Now 2 weeks later I started getting the bumps again but they look more like blisters but don t hurt at all and just stay the same for the most part. They aren t very red either and don t hurt to touch. Im just worried that maybe I have HSV1 too and since I bite my nails on occasion now I have herpetic whitlow. Is this a super common infection to get?
Yes it can be contracted by contact. still you consult with the doctor to rule out any eczematous lesions like pompholyx. If it is Hsv1 then take acyclovir tablet 400mg thrice daily for 7days.
