What Causes Bloating,abdominal Pain And Bowel Problems?
hi I am a 31 year old female and am very worried I am very bloated and feel nauseous my stomach feels very tight and feels as if something is coming back out. I have upper abdominal pain discomfort whichsometimes goes to lower abdominal. My bowels alternate from normal to constant diarohea. I may empty my bowels and think I,m done and then have to go again twice straight after. This is making my life hell I have 5 children. I went to the doctors and he said I had too much acid in my body and put me on lansoprazole capsules for 3 months ,but I am still scared and think it may be a stomach ulcer and am thinking of getting tested for h pylori. The bowel problem I have had for a good couple of years where I had slimy diarohea, do you think I have damaged my colon or my bowel please help?

hi there, your symptoms could be suggestive of irritable bowel syndrome or it could also be due to chronic infection with amoebiasis,or giardiasis. First of all anxiety it self can aggravate IBS. I suggest patients with amoebiasis a course of entamizole ds which also works for giardiasis. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion and you will need your physician to evaluate you for any other intestinal infection before treating you for irritable bowel syndrome. In the meanwhile you could also get tested for H pylori and continue with the lansoprazole tabelet.Take care
