I have over the past 15 years been told that blood cells have been found in my urine. I was treated for a stubborn infection about 10 years ago. My doctor at the time diagnosed it as cystitis. From time to time , every year or so I experience a little discomfort like soreness. This July I had an extensive blood workup done as part of an exam. It has been 5 years since my last. Report came back excellent only recommendation was to increase water due to kidney function which was slightly high at .1 higher than normal. However no mention of the fact that too numerous to count blood cells found in urine. I have always been told that they find some blood cells in my urine . Should I be concerned All other factors and numbers in urine were good. I am a 64 year old woman who drinks 2 glasses of wine a day or average 5 days a week. I take 3 baby aspirin daily as well as fish oil and coq10.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Ocassional RBC are normal in urine. 2. If the report says, there are no blood cells, probably it is correct and you need not worry. 3. Increased water intake is helpful for kidney and also prevents infections. Continue with increased water intake. Alcohol can help in mild diuresis, however, do not overdo it. Baby aspirin, fish oil and coq10 are good for the heart, continue it. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
