What Causes Blood Clots In Heart?

First of all thank you ...I have a brother who lives in Longview and has issues with blood clots that have traveled from his lungs to his heart . He is now having trouble breathing . His current doctor has him on medication that is suppose to help get rid of those blood clots however, he says it not helping him . Now the clots are in his heart . Can Baylor Hospital help him before he has a stroke or worse dies ? Please help ... I am his his brother in Laporte Tx . Robert Barnes

Hi,

Your query does not give clear information about the blood clots. Anyway such blood clots must be investigated properly to find out their position and severity by investigations like MRI, angiography, blood counts etc. Any cardiac hospital will give him treatment after the investigations.

Main causes to get blood clots in blood are uncontrolled hypertension, high cholesterol and atherosclerosis to cause clots built up in heart arteries. These things also need to be investigated for. Please consult a cardiologist.
