Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, in the last year I have found blood in my stool on several occassions during menstration. In the last few days it has happened in 3 of 6 bowel movements and I am not menstrating. I am experiencing a slight throbing in my pelvic region, and in the time of ovulation (half way to my next menstration) and am very concerned. Do you have some idea of what it may be or what kind of doctor I should see? No other irregularities. No other symptoms.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The symptoms you are having are nonspecific. If the blood in stool is confirmed then it could be due to fissure or hemorrhoid (if constipation is there). Else it may not be blood stained stool, but it could be the diet that must be causing this, you need to differentiate it first whether it is the blood stained stool or it is the menstrual bleeding. It is both the different symptoms you have just for confirmation you can see the surgeon.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
