What Causes Blood In Urine When Suffering From Acute Cystitis With Hematuria?

Is occasional bacteria normal? I have blood in my urine. I was recently put on xarelto blood thinners about a month ago. I was at the doctor and ER the other day and they said it was acute cystitis with hematuria. Will antibiotics clear this up. It burns and have pain in my lower abdomen and I urinate every hour and I have the urge to go not long after I have went.

Hi,

Noted your history of passing blood in urine, burning urination, pain in lower abdomen and frequency; on blood thinner Xarelto.
First of all, the most important thing is to get a proper diagnosis of the condition you are suffering from.
This is possible by sending the samples for:
Urine: routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
Blood for CBC and kidney function tests as well as coagulation profile by bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombine time and so on.
Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and correlation with reports.
Ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis particularly for genitourinary system.
Get a referral for Urologist for further evaluation and investigations which may be in the form of Cysto-urethrography and as advised.
All this will lead to the proper diagnosis and leads to a proper management.
