What Causes Blood Pressure Levels To Rapidly Go From High To Low?

I had high blood pressure (147/84, 153/73, 163/93, 143/84--last at the doctor s office was 168/80. He put me on amlodipine 5mg. Took it for two days then tested my blood pressure. This is the 3rd day, I did not take it after testing my blood pressure: 106/55; 95/59; 96/58 and at 6 pm tonight it was 97/64. Doctor s office is closed until Monday. Not taking the amlodipine until I talk with him. Why did I go from high to low so quickly?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I suppose it worked extremely well. In any case, I would suggest you did home blood pressure monitoring to see if you, in fact, have hypertension.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
