What Causes Body Ache After A Hernia Repair Surgery?
My husband (age 72) had hernia surgery yesterday. Today his whole body aches abnormally. Says he feels like he s been beaten. He has no fever and blood pressure is normal. The incision is not inflamed. Do you think he had a reaction to the anesthesia? Is there something he can take or do? Currently he s on Motrin and a mild narcotic (opioid). He s never reacted like this in past surgeries. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi,
I have gone through your query. Body ache can be due to positioning in surgery or infection.
Get a blood routine examination also. Narcotic pain relievers like Tramadol will be helpful. Ensure that he is getting proper antibiotics also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
