What Causes Body Chills Along With Appetite Loss And Abdominal Bloating?

I m into my 5th day of alternating sweats and chills, have no appetite to speak of and feel bloated, bowel movements are starined to non existent and there may be evidence of early stage prostate cancer given 10+ psa levels and a recent mri of the area. Could these all be interconnected?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A CT scan is a good test but it does not visualize gallstones, does not tell anything about the stomach or large intestine. Hepatomegaly or hemangioma do not cause any pain. So your symptoms are rather caused by something else. If you have also upper middle abdominal pain, stomach issues are possible and gastroscopy needs to be done.

If there is a pain/discomfort in the upper right and radiates to the back, gallstones are the reason. In such case abdominal ultrasound is necessary.

If you have any diarrhea/constipation, blood in the stool, weight loss, the large intestine issue is the reason and colonoscopy needs to be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
