Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I work with a 4 year old child who has recently had his Keppra doubled due to his growth and an increase in his seizure activity. Today I noticed he was very shaky and unable to control tremors in his hands, which upon further examination seemed to be going all over his body. Is this a common side effect of increasing Keppra?
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. Keppra is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. Keppra is used to treat partial onset seizures in adults and children. So I think the problem is that the child is not taking the right dose of keppra or he is not stabilised yet by the increased dose of keppra. For more information you should see a neurologist. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
