Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have used xopenex inhalers for several years when necessary. I recently bought the CVS generic having not needed any inhaler for months and when I used it yesterday, I became very shaky. Never had that reaction before. Any idea why this happened suddenly?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Xopenex inhaler, when used for first time/after a long gap/on increased dosage, is likely to cause cardiovascular side effects in form of raised blood pressure, palpitation or nasal congestion/dizziness can be converted in nervousness, tremors... please try to be peaceful, take deep breaths, drink light nutritive fluid.
Mostly the symptom goes with proper & continuous advised dosage... in case it remains more than 4-5 days or is aggravated, consult treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
General & Family Physician
