Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is having difficulty breathing through her nose. She is 94 years old and recently had shingles, from which she is now recovered but still has pain from that sometimes. I am alarmed because at night it is hard for her to sleep since she has had a runny nose and the breathing problems for over a week now. We thought it was a cold, but she does not seem to have any other cold symptoms (sore throat, etc.)

What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Runny Nose?
Hello, It could be a viral rhinitis. As a first line management you can take antihistamines like cetirizine for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists better to consult a physician and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
