Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed bright red blood in my mucus on Thursday evening. It is now Sunday and I m still seeing blood in the mucus. I was admitted into the hospital Friday and have had an array of blood tests, CT scans, X-rays, Stress Test, and Ultra Sounds. An ENT doc examined me in the hospital but didn t find anything, suggesting the bleeding was posterior. How should I follow up? Thank you.
You are having hemoptesis. It is frank blood means source is anterior part. Local examination of mouth tongue and throat be done. If no source is detected then blood hemogram and sputum test can be done. Next laringoscopy and broncho scopy is recomanded. With all the investigation and test definite diagnosis can be done and treatment will be easiar.
