What Causes Brown And Yellow Vaginal Discharge After A Membrane Sweep?

Hi , I had a membrane sweep on 9th, 10 th and today as well. First day after the sweep I got huge bloody mucus plug when I went for a pee and there after followed by brownish mucus secretion. After the second swept also , had some brownish secretions. But today I got all those secretions in yellow color. Is that normal to have this yellow color?? Please let me know. Thank you ..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to have a gynaecologist review and high vaginal swab cultures and sensitivity as well as microscopy.

It can be earlier signs of vaginal infection and both fungal and parasitic are possibilities. Urinalysis may also be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
