What Causes Brown Color Vaginal Discharge After Abortion?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...after abortion one day bleeding and after two days stop and after two days coming brown water and two three days stop and now after two weeks abortion now start dark brown blood and water

Understand your concern
Brown color vaginal discharge after two week of abortion suggests some abnormality.
Brown bleeding suggests stale blood means blood remain some time in the uterus and then its come out.
Following are the cause of your problem:
1. Retain product of pregnancy/incomplete abortion: Should be diagnosed by USG scan and treatment is misoprostol or surgical process like D & C.
2. Ectopic pregnancy: again diagnose by USG scan and treatment is surgery
3. Choriocarcinoma: some time placental cell concert in to the malignant cell and produce molar pregnancy. Should be diagnosed by USG scan and Blood HCG titer.
4. Pelvic and vaginal infections: Diagnose by swab test, CBC and pelvic examination. Require antibiotic to cure.
So consult the gynecologist and get the proper investigation to diagnose above causes.

Understand your concern
Brown color vaginal discharge suggests the stale blood. It is occur after abortion but only for one week after abortion. But it will not occur after 2 week of abortion.
You should consult the gynecologist to rule out the following causes:
1. Incomplete abortion: some pregnancy product will fail to abort and bleeds. Should be diagnosed by USG scan. Treatment is misoprostol or D & C.
2. Vaginal or pelvic infections: abortion process increase the risk of infections. Should be diagnosed by swab test and CBC. treatment is antibiotic and proper pelvic hygiene.
3. Ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy should be possible in rare case. Should be excluded by USG scan
