What Causes Brown To Red Heavy Bleeding After Surgical Abortion?
I am a 30 tears old woman with type one diabetes, I had a C-section for my son 15 months ago, and last week had to have a surgical abortion. Im having old blood flow, then new bright red heavy flow, back and forth. What could be the cause of this, and how serious is the possible risks??
Hello dear Understand your concern As per your questions you did abortion by surgical process. Chance of bleeding after surgical abortion is very less as all the product is evacuated by procedure. But some time product may remain inside if it is done by unexperienced health care provider under septic condition. So it think you have bleeding is due to retain product of conception, vaginal/pelvic infections, trauma to genital tract. Retain product is confirmed by USG scan, if it is there should be removed by misoprostol or D & C. Infections is treated by antibiotics and by maintaing pelvic hygiene Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
