What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge And Abdominal Cramps After Inserting Mirena?
Had mirena inserted about 4 months ago.No bleeding since until july 6th I started having a brown discharge that lasted almost 2 weeks. Now i m experiencing cramping and sharp pains in my left side and i m really nauseous.Could this be from the mirena?

The most common reason for brown discharge is the presence of dried or old blood.
Mirena is associated with a decrease or complete halt of the periods and it is likely the reason for the small amount of old blood seen.
In terms of the pain, there should not be associated pain because of the IUD, so this would need further investigation by your doctor.
Examination of the abdomen and an ultrasound as well, may be needed.
