Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Brownish Colored Urine After Having Hysterectomy?
Hi, I had a hysterectomy 3 1/2 weeks ago. About one week ago my urine turned a brownish color. I have had no vaginal discharge at all. Just the start of slight bladder leakage for which I have to wear a liner for. The liner and the toilet paper after wiping are this brownish color. No pain, no fever, only drink water and splenda sweetened iced tea. Is this normal or should I ho to the doctor sooner than my post op appointment?
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.
You have noticed a change in the color of your urine to a brown color. This is concerning for possible infection or bleeding within the urinary system. I recommend that you see your medical provider right away to be tested. Any delay may cause additional harm.
