What Causes Brownish Red Vaginal Discharge Despite Taking Medication For BV?
I have brownish red fluid that smells coming out of my vagina when i pee and have sex...i accidentally took my bacterial vaginosis medicine 2 months late after precribed since i had no symptoms...i finally took my medicine and i still still have it....whats wrong with me?
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Brownish vaginal discharge is generally benign but when it's foul smelling then it implies bacterial infections. Bacterial vaginosis is usually white discharge. Needs PV examination by Gynecologist. All that you need is to do Microscopy of vaginal discharge. In order to prevent repeated infections, you have to follow the following steps. 1. Wipe yourself while attending bath room from front to back to avoid soiling by stool. 2. Avoid spermicide 3. Wash daily with mild warm water in case of bacterial vaginosis you have apply metronidazole gel twice weekly for 4-6 months after antibiotic therapy. Hope it helps best Don't forget to rate this answer and close the discussion at Healthcare magic. I will be glad for leading questions. Regards Dr Ejaz
