What Causes Bruise And Pain On The Shin Post Injury?

Earlier today, I was pitching for my softball team, and the girl hit a Hard line drive right back into my upper shin. I immediately applied ice to the area and refused for anyone to call an ambulance since I didn t think it was too serious. In now looks like a normal bruise, but there is pain when I move my foot, I m limping a little bit but other than that it seems fine. I want to make sure there is no fracture. How can I tell between a bone bruise, a regular bruise, and a fracture?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concern. You should be worried but not too much. It seems you don't have fracture. It is a bone bruise. You may easily differentiate. The two main signs of fracture are
1.Crepitation- sound like as crunch when you move in lace of injury.
2.Restriction of movements- you can not walk. In addition, pain and swelling are very strong, you can not sleep at nights because of pain.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
