General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
From your history, there might be injury to ligament or bone as swelling is present.
I would advise
To consult a orthopedician, get a x-ray done to asses any injury to bone.
In this case movement restriction with a knee brace is highly recommended.
Pain killers may be taken if necessary.
recurring knee problems suggest more of ligament issue, so kindly sort out as early as possible.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
