Hi and welcome to HCM
I'm Dr. Taimur and I will be addressing your health concerns.
I have read your question and understand your concern.
Easy bruising may be due to a number of reasons on top of which is decrease platelet counts (
thrombocytopenia)
For this can I kindly ask you that do you have any gum bleeding, bleeding from nose, or do you have blood in urine or stools?
Are you on any regular medications like
Aspirin or
clopidogrel which you are using constantly?
Thrombocytopenia can be isolated or in a setting of
pancytopenia that is red blood cells as well as white blood cells all are decreased.
Another possibility is a defect in clotting factors which also leads to similar symptoms but in it the bleeding inside joints and other parts of body is common and bruising is not very common.
In my patients I usually go for following investigations.
1 Full blood counts plus platelets.
2 PT/
APTT INR
3 Urine and stool routine examination for any occult blood loss.
Meanwhile if you are on any anti platelet medications ( aspirin or clopidogrel ) stop it.
Avoid trauma to your body.
My recommendation to you is to get an appointment with a GP and get yourself properly examined and investigated.
I hope this might be of some help, if you have any query feel free to ask me any time.
Thanks.
Dr. Taimur
