General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
The symptoms are suggestive of a clinical condition called "hematoma" ,it is nothing but collection of blood developing at the site of bruises following a blunt trauma. There is no need to worry and in most cases if will resolve with in few days even without any treatment.
I suggest you to do the following as a first line management.
1.Take analgesics like ",acetaminophen" or "diclofenac" for pain.
2.Apply ice packs over the area,It will fasten the recovery and provide symptomatic relief.
3.Rest the affected limb and avoid all strenuous physical activities.
In most cases the swelling and discoloration disappear in five days. If the symptoms persist despite all these kindly consult a general practitioner and get a detailed evaluation done.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.

Regards
Dr.Shinas
