What Causes Burning And Pricking Sensation While Wearing A Fracture Boot?

I have a stress fracture in my foot. I ve been to the Dr over a week ago. Was given a fracture boot and was told to rest it and keep it elevated. My grandpa is passing and I have 3 children so I ve been on it constantly. Now it feels worse and it burns and feels like pins and needles are being stabbed into it. Could it be worse?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Burning and pricking sensations while having a fracture boot are normal findings. This may just a skin reaction to the boot.It may pose no problem but for the discomfort.I will sugest you take an anti-itch drug like benadryl and a steroid like dexamethasone for 5 days. This may help solve the funny sensation.
I will suggest you keep the boot for the said duration. However, if symptoms are too intense, you see the Doctor to consider removal and replacement if too tight.
Hope this will help
Wish you a speedy recovery
