What Causes Burning And Tingling Sensation In The Vagina?

Hi. I keep having a burning tingling sensation in my vagina. I ve been to the gyno and they said that I had a bacterial infection so they prescribed me medication. I took all 14 of the pills and the pain still hasn t gone away. It feels like I have a UTI so I bought medication for it but it s not helping. What could be going on?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. If it was a bacterial infection, two courses of antibiotics would have cured it.

Have you been through blood tests, urine analysis and vaginal swab analysis? If not, it is time you should go for that. Complete blood count will show if you are suffering from infection and if yes, what type of infection! Urine culture and vaginal swab analysis will help to determine what kind of microorganisms are residing there and what medicines will work to eliminate the harmful pathogens!

Any advise regarding the treatment can be given after the test results come. I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. You can ask me follow up questions if you have any.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
