What Causes Burning Eyes And Sleeplessness After Exposure To Cigarette Smoke?

I have a resident at work, age 65 over, who basically baths in Bengay due to aches n oains. She now is complaining of burning eyes, coughing up phlem, neasua, and not able to sleep. She blames this on cigarette smoke from another apartment but we are a nonsmoking building. My eyes burn and my sinuses clear instantly when entering her apartment. Could this be caused by the bengay fumes in apt?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Burning eyes with sinus problem may be part of allergic response of the body to inhaled micro particles containing carbon or other noxious material. It is the checking of content of air, which is required for the finding out particular causative agent responsible for the symptoms. Till that time period, avoid further exposure to that environment and whenever required, use face mask as N 95 wisely.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
