General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

The symptoms can be related to the urogenital system and so along with a urine culture a lower abdominal ultrasound and an ultrasound KUB will be required.

If during the ultrasound the only abnormality noted was an enlargement of your prostate then this is most likely the cause for your symptoms.

As antibiotics have not really been helpful, there must be either a resistance or some underlying cause that is causing the symptoms to be prevalent.

I partially concur with your doctor as of now and would recommend initiation of a different antibiotic and dutasteride and tamsulosin.

Best wishes.
